Mr. Alex is the Managing Director of BK Insurance Ltd. He was the first hired Chief Executive Officer of BK Insurance as a Green General Insurance Company in 2016 when it was given a License by The National Bank of Rwanda. This was a time when Insurance Sector faced enormous challenges.

Alex weathered through the storm, carefully executed the strategy, created company structures, hired and formed teams, created systems, operational procedures, set up the business growth path, upheld un-matched governance standards, put in place risk management practices, enshrined ethical conduct and eight years down the line, BK Insurance is the most customer centric and profitable general insurance company for the past four successive years. It is one of the few insurance companies that seamlessly implemented IFRS 17 standard by end of the year 2023. It is evidently, one of the most reputable insurance companies in the market and the region.

He joined Bank of Kigali in 2010 as a Legal Services Manager and rose through the ranks serving in various Senior Management Positions until 2016 when he became The Managing Director of BK General Insurance Ltd.

Prior to joining Bank of Kigali, Alex was the Head of Quality Assurance and a State Attorney in Rwanda Social Security Board. He was also a member of the reform team of the social security industry. As a practicing Lawyer, he was a member of the Kigali Bar Association and a Member of the East African Law Society.

He has been elected for the Third Successive Term as the Secretary General of Rwanda’s Insurance Association commencing in 2017. He has also been elected for the Second Term as a Board Director of The East & Southern Africa Insurance Organisation (OESAI), representing Rwanda’s Insurance Market.

Alex holds a Bachelor’s of Laws (LLB) from the National University of Rwanda (NUR), a Master’s of Laws (LLM) majoring in International Commercial Law from The Robert Gordon University - United Kingdom and completed an MBA – Strategic Management at Mount Kenya University. He holds a Certificate of Arbitration from the London Chartered Institute of Arbitration (CIARB)

Mr. Adolphe has been the Chief Operating Officer of BK INSURANCE Co. Ltd since 2019. He is a seasoned professional banker; he has accumulated over 20 years of experience while working in Bank of Kigali PLC. He held various Senior Management roles at the Bank - he headed Departments of Corporate Banking, Retail Branch Network and Operations where he played a key role in the implementation of the Bank Retail strategy. He later served at Inyange Industries-CVL Group as a Managing Director for three years. Adolphe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the National University of Burundi.
