  • Requests for insurance cover can be submitted to all BK branch offices. You can use the nearest BK branch office to submit your cover request.
  • Premiums can be deposited at BKGI account 0069248232 in the Bank of Kigali. BKGI premium rates are affordable. Contact the nearest BK branch office or BKGI Headquarters for further clarifications.
  • On line services are being developed to facilitate our clients to request for insurance covers on line.
  • Cover request with required information is processed within 2 working days.
For insurance cover to be processed, the following information is required: Description of goods, itinerary and values
Under Transport Insurance, the following are covered
  • Marine Hull: covers the loss or damage of ships, cargo, terminals and any transport by which the property is transferred, acquired, or held between the points of origin and the final destination.
  • Marine Cargo: protects goods from the risk of loss, damage, and theft during transit by sea, land and air from the port of origin to the final destination.
  • Goods in Transit: covers for loss or damage of various types of goods while in transit by road, rail or any inland waterway within the geographical area set out in the policy.

Claim processing process

Claims can be lodged in all BK branches. You can use the nearest BK branch office to lodge your claim. A claim with all required documentation is settled within 3 working days after the date of receipt of the claim. Complicated cases may take a maximum of seven days. On line services are being developed to facilitate our clients to make claim declarations online

Information Required

For a claim to be processed, the following information is required: Filled declaration form, insurance policy, police report, and repair estimates.
